Spanish Town Cast Iron Bridge

The Spanish Town Cast Iron Bridge, built in 1801, is made of cast iron…thus its name. It extends to the Rio Cobre River and is used for vehicular traffic, but pedestrians also make use of the bridge. It’s known for being the oldest bridge of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. And though still strong, plans are being made to have the bridge improved.
